One cannot decide the food menu, but the food they serve is quite nice and the portions are relatively big. Overall the staff is very nice and friendly but they are not a lot of people to manage the whole hotel. The free activities such as the kayak and paddle board were nice. ☹ The state of the rooms is very disappointing. I understand that we were on a remote island (e.g. scarcity of water and electricity) and it's not a 5 star hotel, but it is still a 4 star one (self-proclaimed I guess?) and the cleaning level of the rooms was one of the worst I have ever seen. Dead insects, dust everywhere, and remains of previous guests that were not cleaned for who knows how long... And the furniture of the room was very old and with many pieces broken. The fact that it is a small team running the place also makes the planning of activities unreliable. We planned with other guests an activity for one day, and then it was postponed to the next day in the morning, then in the afternoon, to finally the following day in the morning (meaning that we wasted a whole day waiting without doing anything) when we did it in a rush before leaving. Since all activities depend on one person and there are not many entertainment alternatives on the island, it is a bit risky to depend on such planning. Overall, it is a high price you pay for what you get. It is not terrible, but manage your expectations before going there.Publicado enVerificada Very Good ☺ Las Playas son muy hermosas es una experiencia ùnica .. ☹ Todo excelente, pero hay muchas hormigas lo cual tiene q aplicarse mucho repelente.Publicado enVerificada A level up (or 2) from glamping-loved it! ☺ Breakfast at 9am, lunch at 1pm, dinner at 6:30pm, complete meals, for example breakfast had fruit, eggs and a starch/carb with coffee or juice, lunch & dinner with a salad, protein, carb - typical of Colombian household you eat what they cook although if you're super picky you can pick something else as a protein (ex: pork instead of fish) Many shaded & lounging areas to take refuge from the sun. Canoes, snorkel gear, and a board to enjoy time in the water. Activities offered to visit other islands are great options to make the day go by. Public beach "next door" with a cevicheria for different, more social scene. There were only a few couples during my (wed-fri) stay so it was very quiet and calm. Casa en el agua is across the water you can hear them sometimes. Also, the doggies are calm and they let you pet them :) The beds are extra firm - the ac works - the water comes out room temp (it's sitting in those huge tanks warmed by the sun) but who showers on vacation lol jk. I didn't get bit by mosquitoes (but I rarely do) If i went back I'd pack a speaker, and music that i don't have to stream (wifi issues) card games or a book (not a device since electricity is limited to the lunch kiosk) The staff is awesome, they serve your meals and clean up after you, they are attentive and helpful. Not many of them, so I'm appreciative of how much work they all put in and how well the property is run. ☹ Can't retreat to your room to watch tv or sit in the ac b/c electricity is cut from 8am - 6:30pm in the rooms, but you'll find something else to do They have trouble with wifi and water usage is limited so it will humble you a little bit but that never hurt anybody.Publicado enVerificada Disappointing ☺ Toffe locatie; ☹ Tis allemaal wat rommelig. Geen douchekop, hele gare toiletten, bed lag half uit elkaar, kasten die doorgebogen waren en veel van meubilair is op zich wel ok maar dan weer geen kussens. Personeel heeft niet volledig aandacht dus soms erg lang wachten voordat je een biertje kan drinken. Je betaalt er best wel veel voor maar krijgt er weinig voor terug.Publicado enVerificada Does not meet the expectations ☺ The natural beauty of the island is there. No complaints on that. The hotel is in need of maintenance. The room we stayed in was not properly cleaned. There was a colony of ants walking on the AC and fan cables in the corner of the room when we checked into the room. I had to collect ants from the bed. They were everywhere. Don’t eat in the room because the ants come to the crumbs. I told the hotel staff that there are ants in the room, only then they cleaned the cables where the ants were walking. Still, why didn’t they clean this BEFORE we checked in, I don’t know. The floor of the room had sand. They also don’t clean the rooms every day, so there is no daily room keeping. It just gets more and more dirty with all the sand and sea stuff, which is not really avoidable on a tropical island. The shower does not have a shower head, it is just a pipe sticking out and you get your shower water from there. There was a bucket of water, which collected the condensated water from the AC unit, inside the shower, and there were some larvae like insects in this water moving/swimming?! They didn’t even bother to empty this bucket before we checked into the room. It was disgusting. Everything inside the room looks old and worn down. The fan was also very dirty, I wonder when was the last time they ever dusted it. Outside, within the boundaries of the hotel, you can see trash on the ground. Staff does not bother to pick them up. I collected several trash from the groud and put them in trash bins because it was bothering me so much after a couple of days seeing them laying on the same spot. There is also occasional dog poop on the grass, because, oh, there are TWO dogs in the property. They are not entirely domestic dogs, the staff seem to feed the dogs but they don’t really take care of the dogs other than that. If you are scared of dogs, there are two semi stray dogs that you will see every day during your stay. They will come to you. Ubicados en el norte de Colombia, en el departamento de Bolívar, se encuentra Isla Tintipan en el Archipiélago de San Bernardo que desde el año 1996 hace parte del Parque Nacional Natural Corales del Rosario y San Bernardo, una de las reservas naturales más visitadas y considerada por muchas personas como el paraíso terrenal.
